What happened
The Chimú Empire, a major coastal power, controlled advanced irrigation systems and wealthy coastal territories. Inca forces, under Topa Inca or Pachacuti, conducted systematic conquest of Chimú territories. Chimú military resistance crumbled before Inca organization. The conquest integrated Chimú administrative expertise into Inca systems.
