1885 · Guatemala vs El Salvador
An 1885 war launched when Guatemalan President Justo Rufino Barrios proclaimed himself President of a reunified Central America and invaded El Salvador. Barrios was killed at the Battle of Chalchuapa (2 April 1885), ending the campaign and the reunification attempt.
