Fought 3 February 1852 near Buenos Aires, the Battle of Caseros saw Justo Jose de Urquiza's allied army (with Brazilian and Uruguayan support) defeat the forces of Juan Manuel de Rosas, ending Rosas's 17-year rule and his exile to England. It opened the way for Argentine constitutional reorganization.
