1539 · Mughal Empire vs Sur Empire (Sher Shah Suri)
On 26 June 1539 the Afghan ruler Sher Shah Suri defeated the Mughal emperor Humayun near Chausa on the Ganges; Humayun barely escaped and Sher Shah proclaimed himself emperor.
