Battle of Halidon Hill

1333 · Kingdom of England (Edward III and Edward Balliol) vs Kingdom of Scotland

On 19 July 1333, an English army under Edward III defeated a Scottish army under Sir Archibald Douglas at Halidon Hill northwest of Berwick. English longbowmen positioned on the slopes inflicted heavy casualties as the Scots attacked uphill, a tactical template for later Hundred Years' War battles.
