1241 · Mongol Empire vs Kingdom of Hungary
On 11 April 1241, the Mongol army under Batu Khan and Subutai crushed the Hungarian army of King Béla IV at Mohi on the Sajó River. The defeat opened Hungary to devastating Mongol occupation until the Mongols withdrew in 1242.
