Fought 28 June 1575 at Shitaragahara near Nagashino Castle, the allied forces of Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu used massed arquebus volleys behind palisades to annihilate the Takeda cavalry under Katsuyori, a landmark in the use of firearms in Japan.
