On 3 April 1367, an Anglo-Gascon and Castilian army led by Edward the Black Prince defeated the Franco-Castilian forces of Henry of Trastámara near Nájera in La Rioja, restoring Pedro of Castile to his throne during the First Castilian Civil War, a theatre of the Hundred Years' War.
