1795 · Kamehameha's forces vs Oʻahu forces (Kalanikūpule)
Fought in May 1795 on Oʻahu, the climactic battle of Kamehameha I's unification campaign, in which he defeated Kalanikūpule with an army of about 12,000 men. Hundreds of Oʻahu warriors were driven over the Nuʻuanu Pali cliff, after which Kamehameha's realm was first called the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi.
