On 7 November 1811, Indiana Territory governor William Henry Harrison repelled a dawn attack by Native forces of Tecumseh's confederacy under Tenskwatawa (the Prophet) near Prophetstown, then burned the town; the battle weakened the confederacy and fed into the War of 1812.
