Medieval Burma and Siam (Thailand) conducted recurring military conflicts for mainland Southeast Asian dominance.

Pagan and Ava (Burmese powers) and Sukhothai and Ayutthaya (Thai powers) conducted recurring conflicts. Wars involved siege warfare, naval operations, and diplomatic intrigue. The conflicts established boundaries between Burmese and Thai spheres.

Burmese-Siamese conflicts prevented either power from establishing complete mainland dominance. The wars established geopolitical patterns lasting centuries.
