The Chola Dynasty under Raja Raja I and Rajendra I expanded naval forces and launched maritime expeditions against Srivijaya and other maritime powers. Chola naval superiority enabled control of trade routes. Maritime campaigns extended Chola influence from South India to Southeast Asia.
