Estimated casualties

Casualty figures unrecorded for this conflict.

A three-year uprising of Cretan Greeks against Ottoman rule, the largest of the 19th-century Cretan revolts. It is remembered above all for the Holocaust of Arkadi (November 1866), when besieged defenders detonated their gunpowder rather than surrender; the Ottomans regained control by 1869.
