The Duar War (Anglo-Bhutanese War) of 1864-65 was a brief conflict in which British India defeated Bhutan despite some Bhutanese battlefield successes. The 1865 Treaty of Sinchula forced Bhutan to cede the Assam and Bengal Duars in exchange for an annual subsidy.
