What happened

The Battle of Kosovo (1389) between Serbian forces under Lazar Hrebeljanović and Ottoman forces under Murad I is remembered as a defining moment in Serbian-Ottoman conflict. Though tactically inconclusive, the battle presaged Ottoman ultimate victory. Serbian military heroism became legendary.
