Lao-Siamese Wars

1353 – 1700 · Laos vs Siam

Lao kingdoms and Siamese (Thai) powers contested for mainland Southeast Asian dominance.

Lao kingdoms, particularly Lan Xang, conducted conflicts with Thai Sukhothai and Ayutthaya. Wars involved territorial disputes and tributary relationships. The conflicts established boundaries between Thai and Lao regions.

Lao-Siamese conflicts defined modern Thailand-Laos boundaries. The wars prevented either side from establishing complete hegemony.
