1192 · Ghurid Sultanate vs Rajput Confederacy (Chahamanas)
In 1192, the Ghurid forces of Muhammad of Ghor decisively defeated the Rajput confederacy of Prithviraj Chauhan at Tarain (Taraori). The victory broke Rajput power in the region and laid the foundation for Muslim rule in northern India and the later Delhi Sultanate.
