Sultan Murad IV personally led the Ottoman army that besieged and recaptured Baghdad from the Safavids over 15 November-25 December 1638; the victory led to the 1639 Treaty of Zuhab, fixing the lasting Ottoman-Iranian frontier in Iraq.
