1863 · Kīngitanga (Māori King Movement) vs British Empire and colonial forces
Fought on 20 November 1863 during the Invasion of the Waikato, this assault on a Māori King Movement fortified line cost both sides more men than any other single engagement of the New Zealand Wars to that point. British troops took the position after Māori within surrendered, yielding 183 prisoners.
