1863 – 1864 · Kīngitanga (Māori King Movement) vs British Empire and colonial forces

A nine-month British military campaign (July 1863–April 1864) led by Lieutenant-General Duncan Cameron against the Māori King Movement, including the battles of Rangiriri and Ōrākau. Its outcome led to large-scale confiscation of Māori land in the Waikato.
